Padayappa Re-release Box Office Collection Day 8: Rajinikanth's iconic mass action entertainer, which originally hit the theatres on April 10, 1999, recently made a comeback to the big screens. Padayappa 4K version, which was released on the special occasion of Thalaivar's 75th birthday, has been performing exceptionally well at the worldwide box office.

As the Rajinikanth starrer stepped into the 8th day of its re-release, it is reportedly gearing up to set a new record. Reportedly, Padayappa now has high chances to cross the lifetime box office collections of Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli re-release, within its lifetime run at the theatres.

According to the recent updates by the box office tracking handle Cineulagam, Padayappa re-released version has collected over ₹16 crore when it completed the 5th day of its release. Even though the KS Ravikumar slowed down drastically during the week days, the recent reports suggest that the movie is about to touch the ₹18 crore mark at the worldwide box office, in just 8 days.

According to the recent updates by trade analysis website Sacnilk, the Rajinikanth starrer has collected around ₹11.75 crore from the Tamil Nadu box office alone, by the first week (7 days) of its release. Padayappa 4K version is expected to cross the ₹12 crore mark in the state, by the time it completes Day 8 at the theatres. More updates on the same are expected to be out very soon.

In that case, Padayappa is confirmed to cross the lifetime collections of Ghilli 4K, the Thalapathy Vijay starrer which had a grand re-release in April 2024, with its lifetime box office collections. The makers of the film have already confirmed that the Rajinikanth starrer is indeed gearing up to emerge as the highest grossing re-release of Tamil cinema, yet.

Padayappa Cast And Crew

Rajinikanth played the titular character Aaru Padayappan aka Padayappa in the movie, which features Ramya Krishnan as the lead antagonist Neelambari. Soundarya played the female lead opposite the superstar in the film, which stars Sivaji Ganesan, Lakshmi, Nassar, Manivannan, Sithara, Radha Ravi, Vadivukarasi, Prakash Raj, Sathyapriya, Senthil, Abbas, Abbas, Preetha Vijayakumar, and others in the key roles.

AR Rahman composed the iconic sound track of Padayappa. S Murthi Prasad is the director of photography. K Thanigachalam handled the editing. The KS Ravikumar directorial is produced by the prestigious banner Arunachala Cine Creations.
