Vaa Vaathiyaar Postponed, Gets A New Release Date: Karthi, the popular actor who is best known for his versatality, is teaming up with talented filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy for his upcoming project. The action comedy film, titled Vaa Vaathiyaar was original expected to be released on Friday, December 12, 2025. However, the recent updates suggest that the release of the Karthi starrer has been postponed.

Vaa Vaathiyaar Postponed, Gets A New Release Date?

If the recent updates are to be believed, Vaa Vaathiyaar will not hit the theatres on December 12, 2025, as planned earlier. According to the grapevine, the Nalan Kumarasamy directorial has been postponed due to the unexpected financial struggles of its production banner, Studio Green. The banner is planning to take some time to settle the matters, and the Karthi starrer will only hit the theatres after the same.

Even though, some unconfirmed reports suggest that the action comedy will hit the big screens in December 2025 itself, the makers have not officially confirmed the same, yet. If the production banner, Studio Green needs more time to settle its financial problems, Vaa Vaathiyaar is likely to get pushed to a the next year. However, it is impossible for the film to release by the beginning of January 2026, as two major releases - Jana Nayagan and Parasakthi - are slated to hit the theatres during the Pongal 2026 season.

Vaa Vaathiyaar Plot, Cast And Crew

The Nalan Kumarasamy directorial revolves around the lives of a grandfather, who believes that his grandson is the reincarnation of the legendary superstar and Tamil Nadu's former Chief Minister, MGR. However, the boy, named Rameshwaran, grows up and opts for a career in police force. Karthi plays the protagonist, DSP Rameshwaran in the film, which stars Krithi Shetty as the female lead.

Sathyaraj, Raj Kiran, Nizhalgal Ravi, Anandaraj, Shilpa Manjunath, Karunakaran, GM Sundar, Ramesh Thilak, PL Thenappan, and others essay the supporting roles in Vaa Vaathiyaar. Santhosh Narayanan composed the songs and original score for the film. George C Williams cranked the camera and Vetre Krishnan handled the editing.
