Vaa Vaathiyaar Release Postponed Indefinitely Due To THIS Reason? Karthi, the popular actor is teaming with acclaimed filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy, for the latter's comeback project. The action comedy film, titled Vaa Vaathiyaar, was originally expected to hit the theatres on December 12, 2025. However, the release of the Karthi starrer has been pushed indefinitely, due to financial reasons.

Vaa Vaathiyaar Release Update: What Happened To Karthi's Film?

As per the recent updates, it has been confirmed that Vaa Vaathiyaar is not getting a 2025 release. Earlier, it was reported that the much-awaited film might hit the theatres on December 24, 2025, as a Christmas special release. But now, it has been confirmed that Karthi and Nalan Kumarasamy's ambitious project is highly likely to get pushed to 2026.

For the uninitiated, multiple law suits have been filed against KE Gnanavel Raja, the producer of Vaa Vaathiyaar citing non-payment of dues. Following the same, the Madras High Court issued a stay on the film's release. While the producer, who runs the production banner Studio Green approached the Supreme Court to remove the stay on the Karthi starrer, his plea was rejected.

Now, as per the latest updates, KE Gnanavel Raja has been caught in more troubles, after popular actor Sivakarthikeyan filed a fresh lawsuit against him. In his complaint, the Parasakthi star alleged that he has not received the complete payment for their project Mr. Local, which is over ₹15 crore, yet. He has also alleged that Gnanavel Raja has not filed TDS required for the film's earnings.

Karthi is set to play the central character, DSP Rameshwaran in the movie which marks Nalan Kumarasamy's comeback to filmmaking after a long gap. Krithi Shetty appears as the female lead in the film, which features Sathyaraj, Raj Kiran, Nizhalgal Ravi, Anandaraj, Shilpa Manjunath, Karunakaran, GM Sundar, Ramesh Thilak, PL Thenappan, and others in the suppporting roles. Santhosh Narayanan composed the songs and original score for the film. George C Williams cranked the camera and Vetre Krishnan handled the editing.
