Mammootty recently confirmed that he will play a pivotal role in Dhanush's 55th film, which is tentatively titled D55. "Elated and excited to be a part of this journey with @dhanushkraja and @Rajkumar_KP," reads the Bramayugam actor's X post. Interestingly, the veteran actor is said to be playing a pivotal role in D55, which will feature the Asuran actor as the protagonist.

Now, the grapevine suggests that Mammootty is charging the highest salary of his illustrious acting career, for the upcoming Rajkumar Periyasamy directorial. According to the rumourmills, the megastar is taking home a massive paycheck of ₹24 crore for the film. Even though the new reports are not officially confirmed yet, they have left the Malayalam cinema audiences and the Kalamkaval actor's fans, equally stunned.

The recent updates also suggest that Mammootty is playing a full-fledged character in the untitled Dhanush starrer, which is touted to be a thriller.
