Jana Nayagan Censor Case Update: Thalapathy Vijay Starrer In Trouble AGAIN: The film of Tamil cinema's biggest crowd-puller has been making headlines lately for all wrong reasons. The makers of Jana Nayagan approached the Madras High court after the censor board refused to issue a certification for the film. However, this legal move has not heled the Thalapathy Vijay starrer in any way, as it is delayed yet again.

The Thalapathy Vijay fans are now facing a major disappointment, as the Jana Nayagan censor row has not reached a conclusion even after waiting for a long time. As per the latest updates, the Madras High Court refused to produce a verdict granting the censor certificate for H Vinoth's film, during today's (January 27, 2026) hearing. Instead, the court has decided to sent the Jana Nayagan censor case for a fresh hearing.

The Madras High Court has reportedly cancelled the earlier order that favoured the Thalapathy Vijay starrer. Instead, the court has decided sent the case back to the single judge for a fresh hearing, stating that the CBFC must be given a fair chance to present its case. Now, it has been confirmed that Jana Nayagan will not get a release, anytime soon.

Jana Nayagan New Release Date: What Is Next?

While considering the current circumstances, it is safe to assume that Jana Nayagan is highly unlikely to get a theatrical release, anytime soon. As you may know, the court proceedings take up quite a lot of time, and it is highly unlikely to make a decision soon. If the makers decide to approach the single bench yet again, the censor case will surely get dragged for another couple of moths.

In that case, the movie which stars Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, and Bobby Deol in the other key roles, will not get a February 2026 release either. Instead, we will have to wait till the Tamil Nadu assembly elections to come to an end, to watch the Thalapathy Vijay starrer in theatres.
