This led to the release of Jana Nayagan getting postponed indefinitely. The makers moved to the Madras High Court for resolving the issue.

However, the censor board is still refused to issue a censor certificate for Jana Nayagan despite making all the instructed cuts and mutes. But, after multiple hearings and postponements, the verdict on the Thalapathy Vijay starrer's censor case is expected to be out soon.

Jana Nayagan Censor Case Verdict To Be Out On THIS Date?

According to the recent updates, it is confirmed that the judging panel of the Madras High Court has no plans to pronounce the verdict on Jana Nayagan censor case, this week. The recent reports by the industry trackers suggest that the final judgement might get pronounced next week - most probably on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Reportedly, there are high chances for the court to send the H Vinoth directorial to the censor board's revising committee, yet again.

Jana Nayagan To Release In February 2026?

If Jana Nayagan is sent to the revising committee yet again, it will take at least two more weeks for the censor board to rewatch the film and issue the certificate. This is highly likely to happen, if the court refuses to give a fixed timeline for certification. In that case, a January 2026 release is clearly impossible for Thalapathy Vijay's final film.

However, if the Madras High Court produces a verdict favouring Jana Nayagan, the film might get a February 2026 release. If the reports are to be believed, the makers are already considering these possibilities. If things finally go in favour of the Thalapathy Vijay starrer, it might get released on February 19 or February 26, 2026. But even this possibility clearly depends on the announcement of the upcoming election dates.
