Jana Nayagan Censor Delay: Thalapathy Vijay's Film Gets 27 Cuts And Mutes: The new updates on the upcoming H Vinoth directorial have left the Tamil cinema fans, disheartened. The release of Jana Nayagan has been postponed, after the Madras High Court delayed the verdict on the lawsuit filed by the production banner KVN Productions, against the delay on censor certificate delay.

As per the reports, the Thalapathy Vijay was thoroughly inspected by the CBFC members few weeks back. After the censor screening, the censor board members had instructed the team to to make around 27 cuts and mutes in Jana Nayagan, in order to attain at least the U/A 16+ certification. Even though director H Vinoth and his team made all the instructed changes, the certificate was not issued by the CBFC team.

According to the rumourmills, it was one of the CBFC team members who filed a complaint against issuing censor certificate for the Thalapathy Vijay starrer. In the complaint, it has been alleged that Jana Nayagan has some content that hurts the religious sentiments of certain communities. The usages of the symbols of certain defense forces have also triggered the CBFC to put the censor certificate on hold.

Jana Nayagan Release Postponed

Recently, production banner KVN Productions confirmed that the release of Jana Nayagan has been postponed, as the court has not provided a verdict on the censor delay case, yet. Even though the Madras High Court has decided to pronounce the verdict on the case on January 9, 2026, it will too late for the release as the film's advance bookings are not yet started in Tamil Nadu, and other major Indian centers.

Along with Thalapathy Vijay, Jana Nayagan features a massive star cast including Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, senior Bollywood actor Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Mani, Narain, and others in the key roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music score for the film.
