Jana Nayagan Makers Approach The Court Over Censor Delay: The highly anticipated Thalapathy Vijay starrer, which marks the crowd-puller's final outing in films before his political entry, is slated to be released on January 9, 2026. Jana Nayagan Makers Move To The High Court Against Censor Board

As reported earlier, the censor board has not issued the certificate for Thalapathy Vijay's ambitious project, even after the team made all changes in the film following their instructions. Reportedly, the H Vinoth film received U/A rating, but the censor board has refused to issue the certificate citing technical reasons. After waiting for so long, the Jana Nayagan makers have now approached the Madras High Court, seeking immediate issue of censor certificate.

The latest updates suggest that an urgent petition has been filed at the Madras High Court on behalf of the production banner KVN Productions, seeking the immediate issuance of censor certification for the Thalapathy Vijay movie. Reportedly, an urgent hearing on the same has been scheduled for 2.15 PM, today (January 6, 2026). More updates on the same are expected to be revealed very soon.

Jana Nayagan Tamil Nadu Advance Booking To Begin Soon

The theatre owners of Tamil Nadu have been reluctant to kickstart the advance booking of Jana Nayagan, as the censor certification of the film is still pending. But, a few theatres across the state have started the pre-sales already, following the Kerala and Overseas centers. Interestingly, Thalapathy Vijay's film is about to touch the ₹50 crore mark with its advance booking collections, without Tamil Nadu centers.

Thalapathy Vijay appears as the central character in the H Vinoth directorial, which stars Mamitha Baiju and Pooja Hegde as the female leads. Bobby Deol is set to make his Tamil cinema debut with Jana Nayagan as the lead antagonist. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music score for the movie, while Sathyan Sooryan handed the cinematography.
