After overcoming multiple delays, production hurdles, and leak-related controversies, the Tamil political action drama is all geared up for its worldwide theatrical release this Thursday (July 23).

Directed by H. Vinoth, the film marks Joseph Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy Vijay, bidding farewell to cinema before fully stepping into politics.

Advance bookings have opened across the country and are witnessing a tremendous response, with Tamil Nadu leading the pre-sales. According to Sacnilk, the film has already sold over 5.3 lakh tickets across India.

A Money Control report suggests that the opening-day ticket sales have crossed 6 lakh, while the advance booking collection has surpassed ₹15 cr within just 48 hours, setting a record for Vijay's farewell film.

The worldwide advance booking performance of Jana Nayagan has generated significant buzz ahead of its release.

According to Sacnilk, the film has already grossed around ₹30 cr in worldwide pre-sales. While these numbers are impressive, many trade observers believe they are strong rather than record-breaking, especially considering that this is Vijay's final film.

In India alone, advance bookings have crossed ₹16 crore, with the film currently tracking towards an estimated ₹50-60 cr opening day at the domestic box office.

Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) (2024) had registered a historic worldwide pre-sales collection, crossing the ₹50 crore mark ahead of its theatrical release. As of now, Jana Nayagan is yet to surpass GOAT's worldwide advance booking figures.

Jana Nayagan Tickets Highest Price

The highest reported ticket price for Jana Nayagan is ₹2,500 for premium recliner seats at select multiplexes in Bengaluru, including Cinépolis and Nexus Shantiniketan.

In Tamil Nadu, ticket prices are regulated by the Thalapathy Vijay government and capped at ₹190.
