As per the latest reports, TVK Chief Vijay was grilled by the CBI investigation team for a second time, on Monday, January 19, 2026. The latest updates by the PTI suggests that the Jana Nayagan actor was questioned for over six hours, by the team.

The latest PTI reports suggest that Thalapathy Vijay, who was summoned for questioning for a second time, arrived at the CBI Headquarters in New Delhi at 10.20 AM, on Monday, January 19, 2026. The popular star was reportedly questioned by a team of officers, who were headlined by a senior deputy superintendant from the CBI's anti-corruption wing, for over 6 hours.
For the uninitiated, Thalapathy Vijay was similarly grilled by the CBI team previously, on January 12, 2026. Even though the TVK chief was asked to return for further questioning on the next day, he reportedly requested a new date for the second round of probe, as he wanted to return to Chennai for the Pongal festivities of the year.
If the reports are to be believed, the CBI interrogation mostly focused on the different aspects of the TVK rally that happened in Karur, including the factors that influenced the decision made. Reportedly, the investigation officers also questioned Vijay about the reason behind his long delay in reaching the rally, the events that took place at the time of his speech, how Vijay learned about the ongoing chaos, and the crowd mismanagement.
