KH x RK Release Update: Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth Starrer To Hit The Theatres In 2027? Tamil cinema is gearing up witness its biggest collaboration in recent times, with the grand reunion of the Superstar and Ulaganayagan. Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth are gearing up to play the lead roles in the comedy thriller film, tentatively titled KH x RK. The movie, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, had an official launch soon.

KH x RK Release Update: Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth Starrer To Get A 2027 Release?

As per the latest reports, the highly anticipated Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth starrer will not start rolling, anytime soon. According to the reports, director Nelson Dilipkumar will finish the scripting of KH x RK, only after he wraps up the his next outing with the superstar, Jailer 2. The director is reportedly planning to begin the post-production works of the film, only after the release of the Jailer sequel.

The latest updates suggest that KH x RK will start rolling only after Rajinikanth wraps up the filming of his next outing, Thalaivar 173 directed by Cibi Chakravarthy, and Kamal Haasan completes the filming of Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, and the upcoming Anbarivu directorial. As per the reports, the Nelson directorial will start rolling only by October or November of 2026.

Now, the grapevine suggests that director Nelson Dilipkumar and producers Red Giant Movies are keen to have to release the upcoming Kamal Haasan - Rajinikanth starrer during the Ayudha Pooja 2027 season. In that case, KH x RK will hit the theatres, mostly by the first week of October 2027. However, the makers will take a final decision on the release date, only after they finalise the shooting schedules.

Mammootty, the megastar of Malayalam cinema is expected to make a cameo appearance in KH x RK. Yogi Babu is reportedly in talks to play a pivotal role. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music score for the film. Rajiv Menon is the director of photography of the movie, produced by Red Giant Movies.
