Parasakthi First Review: Sivakarthikeyan and director Sudha Kongara teamed up for the first time in their careers, for the period political drama, which is slated to be released on January 10, 2026. Parasakthi has been receiving excellent response from the audiences, after it finished its premiere shows at the International Film Festival of RotterDam. As per the first review, the Sivakarthikeyan starrer is a true winner.

As per the recent updates by the social media handles of the International Film Festival of RotterDam, Parasakthi has received excellent reviews after its premiere show." Sudha Kongara delivers action, intrigue, romance and songs in the gripping drama," wrote Stephan Borsos, the TV scholar, writer and curator who attended the IFFR, as one of the jury members.

"She yet again displays her knack for real-life historical subjects with the required seriousness while delivering the goods for a pakka piece of entertainment. It has the heroics, it has the romance, it has the songs - and the action! Kongara shows an excellent rapport with Tamil superstar Sivakarthikeyan, whose boyish charm is put to good use here," further added the jury member in his post.

In his post, Stephan Borsos has also heaped praises on Ravi K Chandran's visuals, which created the perfect backdrop for the period political drama. The jury member concluded that Parasakthi brings the perfect concoction of familial bonds, brotherhood, and community, which makes it a gripping period drama.

Parasakthi Plot, Cast And Crew

The Sudha Kongara directorial revolves around the life of Chezhaiyan aka Che, a peaceful man from the Madras state of the 1965. Che leads a peaceful life, while his younger brother Chinna Durai is active with the student's movement. However, his life takes a different turn after a young woman named Rathnamala, and a ruthless police officer named Thirunaadan, enter his and Chinna's lives.

Sivakarthikeyan plays Che in the film, which stars Ravi Mohan as Thirunaadan. Sreeleela and Atharvaa appear as Rathnamala and Chinna Durai respectively in Parasakthi, which features Kulappulli Leela, Prakash Belawadi, Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Guru Somasundaram, Chetan, Shaji Chen, Papri Gosh, and others in supporting roles.

Basil Jose and Rana Daggubati make cameo appearances in the film. GV Prakash Kumar composed the songs and the original score for Parasakthi. Ravi K Chandran is the director of photography. Sathish Surya handled the editing for the film, which is bankrolled by Dawn Pictures and distributed by Red Giant Movies.
