Parasakthi Gets U/A Certificate From Censor Board, To Release With 25 Cuts: The highly anticipated period drama film which stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, has been garnering the attention of audiences with the uncertainty around its release. Parasakthi, which is slated to be released on January 10, 2025, cleared its censor formalities a few days back and bagged a U/A certificate.

But, the censor board was delaying the certificate issuance for the Sudha Kongara, leaving the team distressed. However, the recent updates confirmed that Parasakthi has finally received the certificate from the CBFC, which has resolved the confusions around the film's release.

Parasakthi Gets U/A Certificate, To Release With 25 Cuts

As per the latest reports, Parasakthi finally received the U/A certificate from censor board today (January 9, 2026), just a day before its release. Shockingly, the upcoming Sivakarthikeyan, Sreeleela starrer was issued with the censor certificate after the team went ahead and made over 25 cuts and mutes, which were instructed by the board committee.

If the reports are to be believed, the censor board had instructed the Parasakthi team to remove or mute all the words and slogans against the Hindi imposition in the Madras state of 1965. The recent updates suggest that a few scenes based on the same topics were removed from the film's final cut. Also, Ravi Mohan's dialogue 'anti National scum' from the trailer will be removed both in the film and the subtitles, in the final cut.

Sivakarthikeyan appears as the central character Chezhaiyan in the Sudha Kongara directorial, which stars Ravi Mohan as the lead antagonist. Sreeleela plays the female lead in Parasakthi, which features Atharvaa in a pivotal role. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the songs and background score for the film. Ravi K Chandran is the director of photography of the project, which is bankrolled by Dawn Pictures.
