Retta Thala OTT Release: When And Where To Watch Arun Vijay's Action Thriller?

As you may know, the Arun Vijay starrer had not succeeded in impressing the Tamil cinema audiences, and ended up as a below average grosser at the box office. As Retta Thala nears its final days at the theatres, the action thriller is reportedly gearing to have its OTT release, very soon. The digital rights of the Kris Thirukumaran directorial have been bagged by the streaming giant Amazon Prime Video.

According to the latest updates, the Arun Vijay starrer is gearing to have its OTT release on Amazon Prime Video, mostly by the final week of January 2026. Even though the makers of Retta Thala have not officially confirmed the OTT release date of the film yet, the grapevine suggests that the action thriller might hit the streaming platform on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Retta Thala Plot, Star Cast And Crew

Retta Thala depicts the story of Kaali, a young man from Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, who lives in extreme poverty. He wishes to marry his girlfriend Anthre, who immediately turns down his proposal stating that both of them have no means to lead a decent family life. She also wishes to leave him and migrate to a foreign land for a better future. However, things take a different turn when Kaali comes across his lookalike Malpe Upendra, a powerful man.

Arun Vijay plays both Kaali and Malpe Upendra in Retta Thala, which stars Siddhi Idnani in the role of Kaali's ambitious girlfriend, Anthre. Tanya Ravichandran, Yogi Samy, P Sai Kumar, John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi, Ramachandran Durairaj, Balaji Murugadoss, Sai Dheena, and others appear in the supporting roles. Sam CS composed the songs and the original score for Retta Thala. Tijo Tomy handled the cinematography of the film, produced by BTG Universal.
