Netflix India South Reveals Tamil Slate For 2026: The highly anticipated South cinema announcements from the OTT giant are finally here, on the special occasion of Pongal 2026. Netflix India kickstarted their yearly tradition by their upcoming Tamil cinema slate for the year, to the much delight of the cinephiles.

As per the new announcements, the streaming giant's upcoming Tamil slate includes some of the most anticipated films of the year including Suriya 46, Karthi's Marshal, Dhanush's D55, Atharvaa starrer Idhayam Murali, Ravi Mohan's directorial debut The Ordinary Man, and more.

Suriya 46, Marshal And More: Netflix India South Reveals Tamil Slate For 2026

Suriya 46

The upcoming 46th film of Suriya, which is helmed by Telugu director Venky Atluri, is unarguably the most anticipated film among the Tamil projects announced by Netflix India South. The untitled film, which is touted to be a family drama, is expected to have its OTT release on the platform soon after it completes its theatrical run. Along with Suriya, the project features Mamitha Baiju, Raveena Tandon, and Radhika Sarathkumar, in key roles.

Marshal

Karthi's highly anticipated upcoming action thriller film, which is directed by Tamizh, is confirmed to have its OTT release on Netflix. The streaming giant confirmed the new update with a social media post, on the special occasion of Pongal 2026. Kalyani Priyadarshan appears as the female lead opposite Karthi in the film, which is expected to get its theatrical release in Summer 2026.

Dhanush's D55

Dhanush's recently announced action thriller film, which is helmed by Amaram fame director Rajkumar Periyasamy, is also slated to have its OTT release on Netflix. The streaming platform confirmed the same with a social media post, while revealing its Tamil state. Sai Pallavi is expected to play the female lead opposite Dhanush in the film which is tentatively titled D55.

Suriya 47

After Suriya 46, Netflix has also bagged the post-theatrical rights of Suriya 47, the highly anticipated project which marks the National Award-winning actor's first collaboration with Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan. The untitled project, which is touted to be an action comedy film, features Malayalam actors Nazriya Nazim Fahadh and Naslen in key roles.

Idhayam Murali

The upcoming Aakash Baskaran directorial, which features Atharvaa Murali in the lead role, is expected to hit the theatres in February 2026. Idhayam Murali, which is touted to be a romantic drama film, is confirmed to have its OTT release on Netflix after its theatrical run.

Gatta Kusthi 2

The long-awaited sequel to the Vishnu Vishal, Aishwarya Lekshmi starrer Gatta Kusthi is expected to get an early 2026 release in theatres. As per the latest updates, Gatta Kusthi 2, directed by Chella Ayyavu, will have its streaming debut in Netflix soon after its theatrical run.

The Other Tamil Projects in Netflix

Ravi Mohan, the popular actor is joining hands with Netflix for two of his upcoming projects. The actor's first independent production venture, which was previously titled Bro Code, is slated to be released on the streaming platform after the theatrical run.

The actor's maiden directorial venture, which is titled The Ordinary Man and features Yogi Babu in the lead role, will also stream on Netflix. With Love, starring Abishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan, AGS 28 starring Arjun Sarja, Abhirami, and Preity Mukhundhan, and Dayangaram, are the other Tamil projects that are gearing up for their Netflix releases.
