Suriya 46 Update: Dulquer Salmaan Joins The Cast? Suriya is teaming up with Lucky Baskhar director Venky Atluri, for his 46th outing in films. The movie, titled Suriya 46, features Premalu actress Mamitha Baiju as the female lead. Interestingly, the rumour mills suggest that popular actor Dulquer Salmaan is set to make a special appearance in the film.

Suriya 46 Update: Dulquer Salmaan Joins Suriya, Mamitha Film?

According to the latest reports by the popular YouTube channel Valai Pechu, the Suriya 46 star cast has now got an interesting addition. If the rumours are to be believed, Dulquer Salmaan, who played the titular role in director Venky Atluri's previous film Lucky Baskhar, has joined the much-awaited project. The reports suggest that the popular Malayalam starrer is not appearing in a full-flegded role, but is set to make a cameo appearance in Suriya and Mamitha Baiju's film.

After these reports started doing rounds in social media, it has also been rumoured that Dulquer Salmaan is about to reprise his much-loved character Baskhar from his film Lucky Baskhar, in the film. However, both director Venky Atluri and the Kaantha actor have not reacted to these rumours yet. Mostly, the team might not officially announce it, even if the rumours on Dulquer's role in Suriya's film are true.

For the uninitiated, the OK Kanmani actor was expected to team up with the popular star of Tamil cinema, for Sudha Kongara's period film titled Purananooru. However, the project went through multiple changes during its pre-production works, which led to both the actor quitting it. Now, Purananooru is releasing under the name Parasakthi, with Sivakarthikeyan and Atharvaa replacing Suriya and Dulquer Salmaan, respectively.

Suriya 46 Star Cast

The upcoming Venky Atluri directorial, which is said to be a family drama, reportedly depicts the story of 45-year-old man and a 20-year-old young woman, who develop an unexpected bond with each other. Raveena Tandon, Radhika Sarathkumar, Bhavani Sre, and Bjorn Surrao essay the supporting roles in the untitled film.

Nimish Ravi is the director of photography. GV Prakash Kumar composes the music score. Naveen Nooli handles the editing. Suriya 46 is expected to have its grand theatrical release by the Summer of 2026.
