Suriya 47 Plot REVEALED: Netflix Drops Major Update: The highly anticipated upcoming action comedy film marks the National Award-winning actor's first collaboration with the Aavesham director. The project, tentatively titled Suriya 47 started rolling in Kochi, Kerala, a few weeks back. Netflix has now bagged the post-theatrical OTT rights of Suriya's film for a whopping price.

Recently, the OTT giant dropped a major update on the upcoming action comedy film, as a part of its Tamil cinema slate 2026 announcements. Netflix confirmed that it has bagged the post-theatrical rights of the upcoming Suriya starrer directed by Jithu Madhavan, with a special post. Interestingly, the streaming platform also dropped an exciting update on the Suriya 47 plot.

"A serious crime hunt with a not so serious team. Suriya 47, is coming to Netflix after its theatrical release, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada," reads the X post of Netflix India. From the social media post, it has been confirmed that the much-awaited film will revolve around a crime investigation, which will be narrated with the director's signature whacky humour and unique characters.

As per the latest updates, it is confirmed that Suriya is set to play the role of a police officer from Tamil Nadu, who gets a suspension after he fails to nab a suspect in an infamous case. Suriya 47 depicts the journey of the protagonist, who moves to Kerala with his incompetent team and the events that follow.

Nazriya Nazim Fahadh has been roped in to play the female lead opposite the National Award-winning actor, in the action comedy film. Premalu actor Naslen has joined the cast to play a very important role. Sushin Shyam is set to compose the songs and the original score for the highly anticipated film, which is bankrolled by the leading man and his wife, actress Jyotika, Zhagaram Studios.
