Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil Vs Vaa Vaathiyaar Box Office Collection Day 7: Jiiva teamed up with Malayalam director Nithish Sahadev for his recently released political satire film. Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil aka TTT, which was released without a massive pre-release hype, has now emerged as the winner of Pongal 2026 season, beating Karthi's Vaa Vaathiyaar.

As per the recent updates, Vaa Vaathiyaar is still lagging behind Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil at the box office, especially in India, as both the films stepped into the second week of their releases. TTT has reportedly made a net collection of around ₹18.8 crore from the all-India (domestic) box office in just 7 days. The gross collection from the India box office has now crossed the ₹20 crore mark.

Vaa Vaathiyaar, on the other hand, had made a net collection of just around ₹8.28 crore from the all-India box office, in 7 days. The gross collection of the Karthi starrer from India box office in the first week was around ₹10 crore. It is indeed not an impressive collection for the Karthi starrer, which was made in a budget of over ₹40 crore. The Nalan Kumarasamy's film has been unable to touch the Nithish Sahadev directorial, so far.

Thambi Thalaimaiyil Cast And Crew

The political satirical film, which marked the Tamil debut of Malayalam director Nithish Sahadev revolves around Jeevarathnam, a local politician who is entrusted with ensuring that the wedding festivities at Ilavarasu's house proceed smoothly. Even though goes according to Jeevarathnam's plan until an unexpected death happens in the neighbourhood.

Jiiva appears in the role of Jeevarathnam in Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil, which fetures Prathana Nathan, Thambi Ramaiah, Meenakshi Dinesh, Amith Mohan Rajeswari, Ilavarasu, and others in supporting roles.
