Jana Nayagan, which was expected to hit the theatres on January 9, 2026, is now delayed indefinitely following the court orders. The netizens are now suggesting a new release date for Thalapathy Vijay's film.

As you may know, Jana Nayagan has been delayed indefinitely due to the issues with the film's censor certification. According to the lawsuit filed by the makers, KVN Productions, the censor board refused to provide a U/A certificate with 16+ rating for the Thalapathy Vijay, despite making all the 27 cuts and mutes suggested by the committee at the initial screening.

Even though the makers approached the Supreme Court Of India to resolve the issue, the judging panel refused to intervene in the issue. Instead, the Supreme Court has ordered the Madras High Court to proceed with its hearings. This new update has miffed the netizens, especially the Thalapathy Vijay fans, who were eagerly waiting for the the Jana Nayagan release from a long time.

The upset netizens, who have lost hopes over the film getting a January 2026 release, are now busy suggesting new release date for H Vinoth's film. Some of the internet users have been asking production banner KVN Productions to take time to resolve the Jana Nayagan censor issues (with a touch of sarcasam), and release the film for Deepavali 2026.

Thalapathy Vijay is set to play the central character 'Thalapathy' Vetri Kondan in the H Vinoth directorial, which stars Bollywood actor Bobby Deol as the lead antagonist. Mamitha Baiju plays a pivotal role in Jana Nayagan, which is touted to be an adaptation of Nandamuri Balakrishna's Bhagavanth Kesari. Pooja Hegde is set to play Vijay's love interest in the film.

Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Mani, Narain, and others appear in the key roles. Anirudh Ravichander composed the songs and original score for Jana Nayagan. Sathyan Sooryan is the director of photography and Pradeep E Ragav handled the editing for the Thalapathy Vijay's film.
