Thalapathy Vijay, who is teamed up with director H Vinoth for his farewell movie, opted to adapte Nandamuri Balakrishna's blockbuster film Bhagavanth Kesari, instead of choosing a fresh script. Right from Vijay's character name Thalapathy Vetri Kondan - TVK (which is ironically the name of his political party) to uninspiring CGI, many factors in the trailer have left the cinephiles underwhelmed.

A major group of internet users believe that the actor-politician made an extremely lazy choice for his final film, by opting to remake a mass masala project like Bhagavanth Kesari. From the Jana Nayagan trailer, they have decoded that the Thalapathy Vijay starrer is a scene-by-scene copy of the Balakrishna starrer. They are also disappointed with director H Vinoth for not creating something original and inspiring for his first outing with Vijay.

Even though Mamitha Baiju's look from Jana Nayagan had already dropped big hints on the film's Bhagavanth Kesari connection, the netizens were hoping that the filmmaker might bring something unique to the table.
