Vaa Vaathiyaar OTT Release: Where To Stream Karthi's Film? The comedy drama film has finally hit the theatres on January 14, 2026, after multiple delays and cancellations. Karthi appears as the central character in Vaa Vaathiyaar, which marks the comeback of director Nalan Kumarasamy after a long gap of over 10 years. The OTT streaming rights of Karthi's much-awaited film are already sold.

As reported earlier, the OTT streaming rights of Vaa Vaathiyaar have been sold much before its theatrical release. The post-theatrical OTT rights of Karthi's much-awaited film are bagged by the streaming giant Amazon Prime Video, for a whopping price. However, both the platform and the makers of the film have not officially confirmed the same, yet.

Earlier, it was rumoured that the the OTT platform backed out from the deal after the Nalan Kumarasamy directorial ran into legal troubles due to financial reasons. But, the recent updates suggest that all is well, and Vaa Vaathiyaar will have its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video, as planned. In that case, Karthi starrer might get its OTT release over four weeks after its theatrical release, in February 2026.

The Nalan Kumarasamy directorial narrates the unique story of a grandfather, who believes that his grandson in the reincarnation of his idol, the legendary actor-politician MGR. However, the grandson, Rameshwaran, growns up to become a police officer, and serves as the DSP. Where Rameshwaran's journey takes him forms the crux of Vaa Vaathiyaar.

Karthi appears in the role of DSP Rameshwaran, the young police officer with a 'filmy' personality. Krithi Shetty appears as the female lead opposite Karthi in Vaa Vaathiyaar, which features Sathyaraj, Raj Kiran, Nizhalgal Ravi, Anandaraj, Shilpa Manjunath, Karunakaran, GM Sundar, Ramesh Thilak, PL Thenappan, Vadivukkarasi, and others in the supporting roles.

Santhosh Narayanan has composed the songs and the original score for Vaa Vaathiyaar. George C Williams is the director of photography. Vetre Krishnan handles the editing of the film. The Karthi starrer is bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja, under the banner Studio Green.
