Karthi and Nalan Kumarasamy's action comedy film has has reportedly made a net collection of around ₹5.5 crore from the domestic (all-India) box office within the 3 days. The gross collection from India reportedly stands at around ₹7 crore.

Even though it is a decent box office figure, Vaa Vaathiyaar is still lagging behind Parasakthi, the Sudha Kongara film which stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, by a huge margin. For the uninitiated, the period political drama film had collected a net collection of ₹25.6 crore in just 3 days. The movie collected around ₹30.40 crore of gross collection from India in 3 days.
