Imlie: After Sumbul Touqeer & Megha, Kasautii Zindagii Kay Actress To Play LEAD Role In 3rd Season After Leap?

Imlie Update: Produced by Gul Khan's 4 Lions Films, Imlie made its debut on Star Plus in 2020, with Sumbul Touqeer Khan and Gashmeer Mahajani taking on the lead roles of Imlie and Aditya respectively. Right from the outset, the series garnered impressive ratings, swiftly becoming a viewer favorite on the channel.

As the storyline evolved, a new chapter was introduced, and Fahmaan Khan stepped in as the fresh male lead, Aryan, opposite Imlie (Sumbul). As episodes unfolded, fans couldn't help but fall for their captivating on-screen chemistry, affectionately referring to them as 'AryLie' or 'SuMaan'.

Last year, the show underwent a generation leap, bringing in Megha Chakraborty, Karan Vohra, and Seerat Kapoor as the new central characters Imlie, Atharva, and Cheeni, respectively. With time, the new generation eventually won over hearts, solidifying the show's position as one of the highest-rated programs across various channels.

IMLIE MAKERS PLANNING FOR THIRD SEASON

However, nearly a year after the introduction of the generation leap, recent reports indicate that the makers of Imlie are contemplating yet another transformation, considering the prospect of a third season. Yes, you read that right!

While the makers are yet to confirm the same, there are speculations that Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 and Molkki fame Priyal Mahajan has been approached to essay the lead role post the rumoured generation leap in Imlie.

PRIYAL MAHAJAN IN THIRD SEASON OF IMLIE?

Gossip TV, the Twitter handle known for sharing exclusive updates related to the Telly world, tweeted, "#PriyalMahajan has been APPROACHED to play female lead in #Imlie post GEN LEAP!"

However, an official announcement regarding Priyal's casting is still awaited. If the news turns out to be true then she'll be the third heroine of Imlie after Sumbul Touqeer Khan and Megha Chakraborty.
