Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Update: After a stint of around eight months in Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod starrer YRKKH, TV star Jay Soni is finally set to say goodbye to his popular character of Abhinav. He entered Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai at the beginning of this year after the leap and has been winning hearts with his performance since then.

Recently, the show's producer Rajan Shahi confirmed Jay Soni's exit from the long-running family drama and praised him for playing a pivotal part in it. Not just that, he even hinted that the reunion of Abhimanyu and Akshara are on the cards now.

Amid all this, Jay Soni has finally opened up about his exit from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Talking to ETimes, the actor stated that he feels it's the right time to move on from the character of Abhinav.

He said, "When I was offered the show, I had not thought much, just went ahead because of the production house and the fact that it was a long-running show. But, as I approached the character I figured that it was not an easy task. It took me some time to establish my character amongst all the other characters who had already established themselves in the show. I was this simple guy-next-door in the show and I am glad that my work and character found so much love with viewers. Yesterday, soon after the exit was announced, I got many messages from people expressing shock and sadness. But, I feel it is time now to move on."

JAY SONI IS GLAD THAT ABHINAV DIDN'T TURN NEGATIVE IN YRKKH

Jay Soni also opened up about the response he got for his performance as Abhinav and revealed that he's glad the character didn't turn negative. "The fact that viewers still saw scope in my character and felt that there is more to be explored around it, is a compliment and I would not have want to leave the show when it was over time. Also, it was good that my character was not turned negative or a psychopath," he added.

Well, his fans are surely going to miss seein Jay Soni as Abhinav.
