After his return, Delhi police interrogated Singh and recorded his statement in court. He explained that he had left home to pursue a spiritual retreat, spending time in various Gurudwaras in Amritsar and Ludhiana. Feeling it was time to return, he made his way back home.

Singh had departed for Mumbai from Delhi on April 22, but by April 26, it was discovered he never arrived in Mumbai. Last seen at Delhi Airport, his whereabouts became unknown, leading his father to file a missing report at Palam police station.

His father, Hargit Singh, filed a missing complaint on April 26, leading to an FIR being lodged under Section 365 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

CCTV footage from the day he went missing showed the actor walking with a bag on his back. Despite daily discoveries from CCTV footage, the actor remained untraceable.

There were rumors of Singh facing financial difficulties and impending marriage plans. However, during his absence, transactions from his bank account were noted, including a withdrawal of Rs 14,000 from an ATM. Investigations also revealed over ten financial accounts and several Gmail accounts associated with him.

During the investigation, a police officer revealed that Singh's financial condition was not sound, as he had multiple loans and outstanding dues. The police also discovered that Singh was a follower of a sect that emphasizes meditation and had expressed interest in traveling to the Himalayas for meditation.
