Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Update: Rajan Shahi's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai first aired on Star Plus in 2009 and celebrated its 15th anniversary this January. As one of the most iconic shows in Indian television history, it now focuses on its fourth generation, featuring Rohit Purohit and Samridhii Shukla as the central characters, Armaan and Abhira.

The current storyline revolves around a love triangle between Armaan, Abhira, and Ruhi. As shown in the recent episodes, Armaan realizes his love for Abhira and breaks his marriage with Ruhi leaving her and the whole Poddar family shocked. Since then, he's been trying his best to win back Abhira's trust.

For those who are unaware, Rohit Purohit entered Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in March this year as the new Armaan after replacing Shehzada Dhami. The loyal fanbase of YRKKH took some time in accepting him as Armaan but the actor is now getting love and appreciation for his performance in the top-rated show.

Amid all this, the talented actor opened up about playing Armaan Poddar in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and revealed the real reason behind accepting the offer to essay the role.

Talking about the same, he told IWMBuzz, "Joining Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai was indeed a significant decision for me. The show has a rich legacy and a massive fan following. What motivated me was the character of Armaan and the opportunity to work with a renowned producer. His unique storytelling and character arcs are what drew me to the show."

Rohit Purohit also opened up about the different layers of Armaan Poddar and how he's loving the character. Sharing the same, he added, "Playing Armaan Poddar has been a journey of understanding his complexities and layers. With time, I've delved deeper into his persona and his motivations. Working closely with the creative team and understanding, and the producer Rajan Shahi's vision has helped me shape Armaan into a character that resonates with the audience."
