Aami Dakini Hit or Flop: Sony Entertainment Television underwent a complete revamp, bringing new shows to spice up the viewership. The gamble to introduce a new set of shows in its weekday programming line-up has not paid rich dividends; however, the channel is confident that the new properties would strike a chord with the audience in the upcoming days.

Last month, Sony TV launched three big shows- Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain Naya Season and Aami Dakini. The Hindi GEC opted for three different concepts to bring eyeballs and increase the overall viewership.

AAMI DAKINI TRP THIS WEEK

Rachi Sharma, Sheen Dass and Hitesh Bharadwaj-starrer opened with a TVR of 0.5, emerging as the number show on the channel in the first week. However, the numbers have dipped in the second week. While one of the episodes fetched a rating of 0.5, the other episodes couldn't perform as per expectations.

Aami Dakini registered a TRP of 0.4 in the current set of BARC TRP ratings. The supernatural show garnered the same numbers as Bade Achhe Lagte Hain Naya Season. Harshad Chopda and Shivangi Joshi's show is stuck in the 0.4 TVR zone, which is a sign of worry.

Did Aami Dakini live up to the hype or it failed to impress the masses? When Filmibeat got in touch with a relialble industry expert, he shared an interesting take on the success of the show.

He quipped, "Aami Dakini is nowhere close to the success of Aahat. However, it has performed better than other properties on the channel, including shows with bigger names. Ronit Roy, Harshad Chopda and Shivangi Joshi couldn't bring TRPs for the channel, but Hitesh Bharadwaj-Rachi Sharma somehow garnered more numbers at the 8pm slot, opening the doors for a new concept."

"I won't call Aami Dakini a flop, but it has to reach a significant level to be labelled as a hit show. It is performing decent in terms of Sony TV's standards but it has the potential to cross the 1 TVR-mark, if promoted well," the khabri added.

Aami Dakini airs from Monday to Friday at 8pm on Sony TV.
