Radhe Shyam Story
Radhe Shyam is a romantic period film directed by KK Radha Krishna. The movie casts Prabhas and Pooja Hegde are in the lead roles along with Bhagyashree, Krishnam Raju, Jagapathi Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Priyadarshi, Murali Sharma, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Jayaram, Flora Jacob, Sasha Chettri, and many others are seen in supporting roles. The songs were composed by Justin Prabhakaran while background music was done by S. Thaman. Cinematography is done by Manoj Paramahamsa and is edited by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Vamsi Krishna Reddy, Pramod Uppalapati, and Praseedha under T-Series Films and UV Creations banners.
Story
Vikramaditya (Prabhas) is the most famous palmistry astrologer in the country. An astrologer who gave a shock that an emergency would come before Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Vikramaditya hides in Italy during the Emergency and falls in love with Dr. Prerana (Pooja Hegde). If you look at the inspirational horoscope of Prerana that she fights life and death with rare cancer. But Vikramaditya says that she will live to be 100 years old. However, Vikramaditya fixes that there is no love or marriage yoga in her life. In a few days, his horoscope will take care of him and his death is imminent.
What problems and experiences did Vikramaditya, the world's foremost astrologer, face in life? What kind of trouble did the motivating life get after the doctors diagnosed that he would die in a few days. Did she tell his love to Vikramaditya who said that she has 100 years of life and a great career? What was the impetus for her life after learning that Vikramaditya would soon die? Radhe Shyam's story is the answer to the question of what is the end to Vikramaditya's life, the motivation to chase death.
Production
Development
Radhe Shyam's story was originally developed by director Chandra Sekhar Yeleti due to budget and other complications he dropped the idea and Radha Krishna was worked as an assistant to him so he borrowed the storyline from Yeleti, worked on it, and rewrote the script for almost 18 years. He narrated the script to actor Prabhas while he was shooting for the Baahubali series (2015–17). Prabhas liked the script and signed up for the project.
Radha Krishna initially wanted to set the story in the backdrop of a hill station in India. However, the story was moved to Europe following the suggestion of Prabhas. Director Radha Krishna Kumar revealed that the protagonist Vikram Aditya's character is inspired by real-life European palmist Cheiro. Several titles including Jaan and O Dear were considered for the film but the makers finalized Radhe Shyam as the film's title.
Principal photography commenced on 6 October 2018. Filming took place in Hyderabad, Turin (Italy), and Georgia, after which it was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Filming resumed in Italy in October 2020. In December 2020, a few crucial scenes were shot at the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad. The final schedule of the film began on 25 June 2021 in Hyderabad. Filming was completed on 28 July 2021.
The film was earlier launched on 5 September 2018 with the working title Prabhas20. The filming took place in Hyderabad, Italy, and Georgia. And the shooting was halted in March 2020 after Covid Break-out. The film shooting was completed on July 28, 2021.
Release
The movie production house was earlier scheduled for release on 30 July 2021. Then it was postponed due to the second wave of the covid-19 pandemic. Later, It was scheduled for 14 January 2022. But once again it is postponed and finally released in theaters on March 11, 2022, in all major languages like Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
