Uday Kiran's Death Shocks Tollywood; Telugu Stars Offer Condolences

Telugu film industry is shocked by the death of actor Uday Kiran, who committed suicide by hanging himself in his apartment at Srinagar colony in Punjagutta, Hyderabad on Sunday night. Several Tollywood celebrities rushed to the Apollo Hospital, where he was admitted by his wife Vishitha, and paid their last respect.

On Sunday, Uday Kiran was reportedly alone at his apartment as his wife Vishitha had gone to Manikonda on some personal work. She grew suspicious when he did not respond to her phone calls. She rushed home and found his body hanging to the ceiling in a room late on Sunday night. Along with the help of the neighbours, she rushed the actor to the Apollo Hospital at Jubilee Hills, but the doctors declared him brought dead.

Born on January 26, 1980, Uday Kiran made his acting debut with director Teja's 2000 film Chitram, which went on to become a trend setter. Followed by two other hits like Nuvvu Nenu and Manasantha Nuvve, he delivered three consecutive successful films. He even won the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 2001 for his performance in Nuvvu Nenu.

After starring in few other movies, Uday Kiran forayed into Tamil films with Poi and later starred in several Telugu and Tamil films. He got engaged to Megastar Chiranjeevi's daughter in 2003, but the proposed marriage was cancelled eventually. Though he continued to do films, his career graph never went up.

In his acting career spanning 14 years, Uday Kiran acted in nearly 20 movies. In recent years, he was struggling to score a big hit. He was last seen as cop in Jai Sriram, which was an average grosser at the Box Office. The actor got married to his long-time girlfriend Vishita on October 24 in 2012. Police suspect that the financial problems, non-happening career, depression might have forced the actor to take a serious step of committing suicide.

The death news of Uday Kiran has come as a rude shock to many in Telugu film industry. Several Tollywood stars took to their Twitter accounts to share their shock over his sad demise and offered their condolences to his bereaved family.
