Akhanda 2 Gets A New Release Date? Nandamuri Balakrishna's long-awaited upcoming fantasy action thriller was originally expected to hit the theatres on December 5, 2025. Akhanda 2, which is a sequel to the 2021-released blockbuster film, was later postponed abruptly due to undisclosed reasons. Later, it was rumoured that the project, helmed by Boyapati Sreenu, might not release anytime soon, and get pushed to 2026.

Akhanda 2 Gets A New Release Date?

If the latest reports are to be believed, the makers of Akhanda 2 have no plans to push the film's release to 2026. According to the recent updates, the production team of the film and the distributors are keen to release the film at least during the third or final week of December 2025. In that case the Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer is likely to hit the big screens on December 18 or December 25, 2025. However, an official confirmation on the same is not out, yet.

For the uninitiated, the release of Akhanda 2 was officially cancelled just the night before its grand release. The fans and cinegoers, who were getting ready to attend the fans shows and special premieres across the globe, were left shaken with the team's decision. Reportedly, the team made the tough decision due to multiple issues on the film's distribution.

Nandamuri Balakrishna is appearing in a double role in the film as Akhanda Rudra Sikandar Aghora and Murali Krishna, in the highly anticipated film. Samyuktha Menon appears as the female lead in the film, which stars Aadhi Pinishetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh, Saswata Chatterjee, Ronson Vincent, Achyuth Kumar, P Sai Kumar, Poorna, Ravi Mariya, Harsha Chemudu, and others in the supporting roles. Thaman S has composed the songs and the original score for the film.
