Varanasi Update: Mahesh Babu And SS Rajamouli's Salaries REVEALED: The epic action-adventure film, touted to be the costliest project ever made in Indian cinema, is currently under production. Mahesh Babu plays the lead role in Varanasi, which marks his first collaboration with director SS Rajamouli. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran essay the key roles in the film, which is slated to be released in 2027.

Interestingly, the recent updates on leading man Mahesh Babu and director SS Rajamouli's massive paychecks for Varanasi, are now doing rounds on social media. If the reports are to be believed, the master craftsman is not taking a specific amount as his salary for the action-adventure film. Instead, Rajamouli is reportedly taking home the overseas theatrical rights of Varanasi, as his pay check.

Mahesh Babu, on the other hand, usually charges ₹100 to ₹150 crore for the film. However, for Varanasi, the Telugu superstar has dedicated 3 years including his preparation time and shoot schedule. So, the leading man is reportedly charging ₹50 crore per year, along with 20 percent of the film's profit share. In that case, Mahesh's total salary for the SS Rajamouli directorial will exceed ₹250 crore.

As reported earlier, leading lady Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is all set to make a grand comeback to Indian cinema after a long break with the film, is taking home around ₹25 to ₹30 crore. Prithviraj Sukumaran, the lead antagonist of Varanasi, has is also reportedly charging around ₹25 crore for his role as Kumbha in the film.

Along with Mahesh Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Varanasi is expected to feature R Madhavan and Prakash Raj, in the key roles. Academy award-winning musician MM Keeravani is composing the songs and original score for the SS Rajamouli directorial. PS Vinod is the director of photography. Bikkina Thammiraju handles the editing of the film, which is produced by Sri Durga Arts.
