CSpace is India's first government-backed OTT platform, managed by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) under state government supervision. As per reports, CSpace utilizes a pay-per-view revenue model, meaning viewers are required to pay Rs 75 for each piece of content they wish to access. In this arrangement, half of the revenue generated from viewer payments is allocated to the content providers. This model allows for a fair distribution of earnings between the platform and the creators, incentivizing quality content production while ensuring viewers have access to a diverse range of offerings.

On March 7, 2024, the CSpace app became available for download on both the PlayStore and App Store. Information released by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting suggests that India currently accommodates 57 OTT providers, all of which offer a diverse selection of streaming media and video-on-demand services accessible via the Internet. This highlights the expanding spectrum of digital entertainment options accessible to Indian audiences.

Recent reports reveal that the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC) is set to launch the platform with an impressive collection of 42 films. Among these, notable titles such as 'B 32 Muthal 44 Vare,' directed by Shruthi Sharanyam, and 'Nishiddho,' directed by Tara Ramanujam, stand out. This initial lineup boasts a diverse range of content, including 35 feature films, six documentaries, and one short film, promising a rich and varied viewing experience for audiences.
