If reports are to be believed director Aashiq Abu wanted to be cast the Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role in his romantic-thriller movie 'Maayanadhi'. Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan was busy with the movies like Solo and Parava and he rejected the offer. Aashiq Abu then turned to Tovino Thomas, who was cast as the lead character of the film.
And The Oscar Goes To
The makers of the 2016 movie 'And The Oscar Goes To' had decided to cast Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, but he turned down to project due to unknown reasons. However, Tovino Thomas immediately agreed to be a part of the movie which went on to earn many prestigious awards.
