Emraan Hashmi Announced Awarapan 2, Here’s a List of Bollywood’s Serial Kisser’s Best Movie Franchises

Emraan Hashmi is all set to make a powerful comeback with two exciting projects. His much-anticipated action thriller Ground Zero is slated for release on April 25, 2025, where he plays an army officer in a gripping patriotic drama. Adding to the excitement, Emraan has also announced Awarapan 2, the sequel to his 2007 cult classic, promising another emotionally intense action-packed ride.

Emraan Hashmi gained massive fame with the Murder franchise. His breakthrough role in Murder (2004) as the passionate lover made him Bollywood’s "Serial Kisser." He returned in Murder 2 (2011) with a darker, intense role as an ex-cop, earning box office success. However, Murder 3 (2013) featured Randeep Hooda instead. The franchise played a crucial role in shaping Emraan’s career in romantic thrillers.

Emraan Hashmi’s Jannat franchise blended crime, romance, and high-stakes drama. In Jannat (2008), he played Arjun, a gambler entangled in illegal betting, delivering a hit with iconic music. In Jannat 2 (2012), he portrayed Sonu Dilli, an arms dealer caught in the underworld. Both films were successful, solidifying Emraan’s image as a master of intense and grey-shaded roles.

Emraan Hashmi played key roles in the Raaz franchise, excelling in supernatural thrillers. In Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2009), he starred as a painter with eerie visions, followed by Raaz 3 (2012), where he portrayed a filmmaker caught in a supernatural battle. Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), a crime drama set in the underworld of the 1970s. Emraan Hashmi portrayed Shoaib Khan, an ambitious gangster inspired by Dawood Ibrahim, who rises to power under the mentorship of Sultan Mirza (Ajay Devgn). However, in the sequel, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobara (2013), the character of Shoaib was played by Akshay Kumar, and Emraan was not part of the franchise's second installment.
