Bazooka

Bazooka is one of the most anticipated Malayalam films of 2025, featuring Mammootty in the lead role. Initially set for release on February 14, it is now scheduled to hit theaters on April 10, 2025. Directed and scripted by Deeno Dennis, the film features an ensemble cast, including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sunny Wayne, Jagadish, Sharafudheen, Siddharth Bharathan, Dean Dennis, Spadikam George, Divya Pillai, and Shine Tom Chacko.

L2: Empuraan

Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, is set to hit theaters on March 27, 2025. Serving as both a sequel and a prequel, the film features Mohanlal reprising his role as Khureshi Ab'raam. Production began in October 2023 and spanned nearly 20 countries, including the UK. Touted as the biggest Malayalam release ever, L2: Empuraan is set to premiere in around 700 screens across Kerala, with approximately 4,000 shows scheduled on its opening day.

Rachel

Rachel is a female-centric Malayalam revenge drama featuring Honey Rose in the lead role as a butcher. Directed by Anandhini Bala, the film is co-written by Abrid Shine and poet Rahul Manappatt, based on a story by Rahul Manappatt. Abrid Shine also serves as the film’s co-producer. Originally slated for release on January 10, Rachel was later postponed, and a new release date is yet to be announced.


 Thudarum

Thudarum

The Mohanlal-starrer Thudarum holds special significance for Malayalam cinema fans, as it marks the much-awaited reunion of the superstar with Shobana after a long gap. Based on a story by K.R. Sunil, the film's screenplay and dialogues are co-written by Tarun Murthy and Sunil. Produced by M. Ranjith, Thudarum was initially set for release on January 30 but was later postponed, with a new release date yet to be announced.

Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer

Rojin Thomas, known for 'Home', directs this ambitious Malayalam fantasy film, scripted by R Ramanand. With Jayasurya and Anushka Shetty in lead roles, it also sees Prabhudeva’s return to Malayalam cinema after Urumi. Sree Gokulam Movies bankrolls the project, which extensively uses virtual production technology. The film’s cinematography is handled by Neil D Cunha, with Jungjin Park as the action choreographer and Rahul Subrahmanian Unni composing the music.
