From Priyanka Chopra to Shilpa Shetty: Indian Actresses Who Embraced Motherhood Through IVF

Debina Bonnerjee, best known for her role in Ramayan, went through a difficult fertility journey marked by severe endometriosis. She faced multiple failed IUI and IVF attempts before finally experiencing a breakthrough, successfully conceiving her second child naturally, making her journey both challenging and deeply inspiring. 

Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas are proud parents to their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, who was born via surrogacy on January 15, 2022. Her arrival came earlier than expected at just 27 weeks, leading to a prolonged stay of over 100 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). After a challenging start, Malti finally returned home, making the journey all the more emotional and special for the couple. 

The Bigg Boss fame television dancer Sambhavna Seth endured an incredibly challenging journey to motherhood, going through seven unsuccessful IVF attempts and multiple miscarriages. After nearly a decade of perseverance alongside her husband, Avinash Dwivedi, the couple finally embraced parenthood through surrogacy. They welcomed twins, a baby girl and a baby boy, on June 4, 2026, marking a deeply emotional and long-awaited milestone after 10 years of marriage.  

Sunny Leone welcomed her twin sons, Asher Singh Weber and Noah Singh Weber, via IVF surrogacy in 2018 with her husband Daniel Weber. The couple also share a daughter, Nisha Kaur Weber, whom they adopted in 2017, completing their beautiful family. 

Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra welcomed their daughter, Samisha Shetty Kundra, via IVF and surrogacy in February 2020 after facing years of difficulty conceiving due to Antiphospholipid syndrome, which caused miscarriages. Despite multiple failed IVF attempts, the couple successfully expanded their family, having earlier had their son, Viaan Raj Kundra, in 2012, and Shilpa has since openly spoken about her journey to help destigmatize fertility treatments.
