From Sonal Chauhan to Ravi Kishan: Meet the 4 New Power-Packed Additions to Mirzapur: The Movie

Ravi Kishan makes his explosive debut in Mirzapur: The Movie as a ruthless rival gangster, instantly grabbing attention in the teaser with a chilling “namak” moment where he brutally pours salt on a wounded enemy, signaling a darker and more expansive Purvanchal underworld beyond the Tripathi reign. 

Mirzapur: The Movie is the highly anticipated big-screen expansion of India’s iconic crime-drama franchise, produced by Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, with a worldwide theatrical release set for September 4, 2026; serving as a 2018 prequel and origin story, the film explores the early days of the Purvanchal underworld before the events of Season 1, and is helmed by director Gurmmeet Singh with writing by creator Puneet Krishna. 

Mohit Malik has officially joined the cast of Mirzapur: The Film, marking his entry into the gritty guns-and-gangs universe. While details about his character remain under wraps, the teaser gives a glimpse of him in intense action mode, sporting long hair and a fierce, dangerous look, hinting at a powerful and potentially menacing role in the storyline. 

Sonal Chauhan joins the ensemble of Mirzapur: The Movie (2026), where she is set to feature in a grand, high-energy dance number inspired by the iconic Mehbooba Mehbooba from Sholay. In the teaser, she is briefly seen in this song sequence, hinting at a visually striking performance that adds a vibrant, celebratory layer to the film’s gritty narrative. 

Jitendra Kumar steps into the role of Bablu Pandit in Mirzapur (film), replacing Vikrant Massey, who originally played the character in Season 1. He portrays Vinay “Bablu” Pandit, the intelligent and composed younger brother of Guddu Pandit (played by Ali Fazal). Since Bablu was killed in the series, the film’s prequel timeline allows the fan-favourite character to return, with Jitendra Kumar taking over after Massey exited the project before filming.
