Indian movies are competing with global cinema in terms of box-office collections. Nowadays, the films joining the 100 crores club is no big deal. With Aamir Khan Dangal collecting more than a thousand crores at the global level, and Baahubali 2 minting a thousand crores at the domestic level, a new box-office club is created in the Indian Cine diaspora. Here is the list of Indian movies which collected more than 1000 crores at the box office.
The Bollywood Baadshah had a major impact at the box office with his comeback movie, Pathaan. This movie had a 225 crore budget, and it was released on January 26, 2023, the day of the Indian Republic. While the Baadshah's fans awaited his comeback, they showed their enthusiasm in the theatres, and the film amassed a 1000-crore gross within a month of its completion. The movie smashed many benchmark records and has now joined the list of Indian movies with a 1000-crore collection.
The climactic moment in the first part of KGF-1 captured the audience's interest immensely, and it moved them right into the second part. And the second part never let the audience down and even delivered above fans' expectations. KGF-2 had a 100-crore budget and grossed between 1,200 and 1,250 crores at the box office.
The success of S. S. Rajamouli's RRR is more evidence that no one is ever let down by his screenplay. The Golden Globe award for the year's best original song was given to "Naatu Naatu." RRR was produced with a massive 550 crore budget, and it has so far made almost 1,258 crore.
The popularity of Baahubali 1 was largely attributed to its climactic moment because it was well-liked throughout India. Despite having a 250 crore Indian rupee budget, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion brought in a staggering 1,810 crore worldwide.
Dangal is a sports drama in Hindi with a 70 crore budget that was released globally for Christmas in 2016. It is based on a wrestling competition. This movie is well-liked by foreign audiences, and it made 387 crore in India and 2,024 crore globally.
