Malayalam Film Actresses Who Faced Box Office Struggles In 2023

Actress Aishwarya Lekshmi, known for her roles in 'King Of Kotha' and 'Christopher', faced disappointment as both films reportedly failed to make a mark at the box office. Despite her presence, the movies couldn't garner the anticipated success, leaving the actress and the films' teams disappointed with their commercial outcomes.

Despite being celebrated as the "Lady Superstar" of Malayalam cinema, Manuj Warrier faced a challenging year with her involvement in two films, 'Ayisha' and 'Vellarippattanam'. Regrettably, both movies left audiences disheartened primarily due to their lackluster screenplays. Reports revealed that the actress struggled to engage the audience with her performances.

Malavika Mohanan made a comeback in 2023 with 'Christy'. However, the film failed at the box office and did not get the expected response. The film was directed by debutant Alvin Henry, and hit the screens on February 17. The film follows the story of Roy, a teenager falling in love with Christy, an older woman in his neighbourhood.

The actress who played a lead role  in the movies like 'Live' and 'Kolla' last year, encountered a significant setback as both films suffered critical and commercial failure, marking them as monumental disasters in her career. Despite her efforts, the movies failed to resonate with audiences, resulting in a substantial setback for the actress within the industry.

Bhavana's return to Malayalam cinema with 'Ntikkakkakkoru Premondarnnu' struggled to draw audiences to theaters. Directed and penned by newcomer Adhil Maimoonath Ashraf, the Malayalam movie features Sharaf U Dheen in the lead role, alongside supporting actors Saniya Rafi, Ashokan, and Anarkali Nasar.
