Malayalam Movies With Stellar Opening Week Collections Worldwide(2023)

During its initial release week, the movie garnered an impressive Rs 56.35 crore in global box office earnings. Notably, "2018" became the first Malayalam film to achieve entry into the coveted 200 crore club. Based on the 2018 Kerala floods, this survival drama was co-written by Jude Anthany Joseph and Akhil P. Dharmajan. The film features Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Narain, and Lal in prominent roles.

Made on an estimated budget of approximately Rs 25 crore, the movie has ascended to become the fourth highest-grossing Malayalam film. Featuring Mammootty, Kannur Squad crossed the Rs 50 crore milestone within nine days of it's big release.

Global box office reports reveal that 'Neru' accumulated Rs 43.15 crore in its opening week. 'Neru' marks the recent collaboration between Jeethu and Mohanlal following '12th Man'. The film was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner, and  hit screens on December 21.

The high-octane thriller, featuring Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese, and Neeraj Madhav, received widespread acclaim and swiftly soared to blockbuster status upon its debut. Boasting remarkable success domestically and overseas, reports indicate that the film grossed Rs 35.5 crore worldwide within its first week of release.

Despite receiving mixed reviews upon its release, the film managed to gather a global gross of Rs 35.1 crore within its first week. Directed by Abhilash Joshiy, and starring Dulquer Salmaan in the central role, was released during the festive season of Onam. Made with a budget of Rs 60 crore, the movie was dubbed in other languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
