Telugu Films January 2023 Box Office Report
In 2023, two big Sankranti releases Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy made great box-office collections and several dubbed movies have received good responses from audiences and critics. As usual, January brings festival long weekends that can draw more audiences to the theaters to watch their favorite actors. Despite the two big stars clashing at the box office, both films made huge profits. Here is the box office collection report of the recently released Telugu movies in January 2023

WaltiarVeerayya – (Blockbuster)
Megastar Chiranajeevi's high-voltage mass entertainer movie Waltiar Veerayya dominated the Sankranti release by making a record at box-office collections. The movie which had huge star casts like Ravi Teja, Shruti Hassan, Regina Cassandra, and many more did a fantabulous job. Bobby who is captain of the ship utilized the given opportunity to show the megastar in a mass avatar and his fans were very happy to see Chiranjeevi in this role after many decades. Waltair Veerayya was released with Balakrishna's mass entertainer Veera Simha Reddy but at the box office, Waltiar Veerayya won the Sankranti race.
VeeraSimhaReddy – (Super Hit)
Sankranti festival season is always special for Natasimham Balakrishna because some of his films created industry hits on Sankranti releases. Director Gopichand Malineni did a tailor-made character for Balayya with a powerful role. The main attraction of the film is Sai Madhav Burra's high-voltage punch dialogues. Veera Simha Reddy made profitable collections at the box office within a few days of its release. Thaman's song and background music added extra value to the film. Veera Simha Reddy became a superhit at the box office.
Tegimpu (dub) –( Flop)
Thala Ajith Kumar's 'Thunivu' dubbed version Tegimpu did not done well in Telugu states at box-office as audience were busy in watching Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy. Even though the original version was superhit in Tamil states here it got average response from audience at theatrical release. Tegimpu movie had strong message to the society on how bank sectors are looting the money from people. But this not a new for Ajith's film at Telugu states because only few movies got good reciption here and most of the time his dubbed films get flop verdict at Tollywood Box-office.
Vaarasudu (dub) – (Average)
Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu released in Telugu as Varasadu in January 14. Starring Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay in the lead roles, the Tamil version of film released in theatres on Jan 11 and earned Rs 4 crore at the box-office in its opening week. But, the Telugu version of the film received above average collection in theatres.
KalyanamKamaneeyam – (Flop)
The romantic-comedy film directed by Anil Kumar Aalla starred Santosh Sobhan and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the main roles and was released in theatres on January 14. Released as Sankrati special, the film received mixed reviews, how ever, it failed to attrract crowds in theatres.
Hunt –(Flop)
After creating buzz on social media, the action -thriller drama ' Hunt' was released on 26 Jan 2023. Starring Sudheer Babu, Srikanth Meka and Bharath Niwas in lead roles, the film was official remake of Malayalam film 'Mumbai Police'. Directed by Mahesh Surapaneni, the film was declared a box office disaster.
Pathaan (dub) - (Super Hit)
Released on Republic day, SRK starrer film 'Pathaan' earned record-breaking box-office collection across the world. As per the reports, the film earned 127.5 crores on the opening day at the Indian box-office from all its language versions. With high-voltage action sequences and thriller elements, the film attracted all kind of audiences to theaters. Talking about its Telugu version, the film was received positive response from moviegoers and broken the box-office collection of Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2 and Prabhas starrer Bahubali 2.
