Despite getting mixed reviews from the critics, the Bhatts' sequel on Murder, starring Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez, fetched a very good start across the country. Though the rain played a spoilsport in places like Mumbai, Murder 2 managed to pull in 70 to 75 percent of footfalls in most of the centres.
In fact, the single screen reported better occupancy, while plexes faced tough competition from last week's Aamir Khan production Delhi Belly, starring Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunaal Roy Kapoor. Though Salman Khan production Chillar Party got a nod from the film critics, it opened with a a lukewarm response and totally depended on the word of mouth. The film saw a mere 15 to 20 percent of footfalls at the theatres.
The coming Friday film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara will hit the theatres. With a huge star cast, with Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin, the film is riding on a lot of hype and is expected to have a good start.
