Mumbai: Hindi movies Special 26 and ABCD - Any Body Can
Dance have concluded the first weekend with wonderful
collection at the Indian Box Office. The Akshay Kumar
and Kajal Aggarwal starrer heist film has topped the business
chart, while Prabhu Deva and Ganesh Acharya starrer
dance 3D film landed in the second place. But the per screen
average of ABCD is much better than the other.
Special 26, which released in 1750 screens, debuted
with an average response on Friday, but it picked up well over the
weekend. The heist dram has got excellent response in multiplexes
when compared to its business in single screens. The movie has
collected Rs 27 crores at the domestic Box Office in the (3 days)
first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 7 cr on Fri, Rs 9 cr on Sat and Rs
11 cr on Sun.
Whereas ABCD - Anybody Can Dance, which graced 750
screens, started with a bang with its occupancy ranging between 55%
and 70% on Friday. The movie got positive reviews from film critics
and a good word of mouth took its business upwards over the
weekend. Especially, the 3D version of the film was running
houseful in the North India on Saturday and Sunday.
The India's first dance 3D movie has collected Rs 20 crores at
the domestic Box Office in the (3 days) first weekend. Its breakup
is Rs 5.5 cr on Fri, Rs 6.5 on Sat and Rs 8 cr on Sun. Trade
