Abhinav
Kashyap's
latest
directorial
venture
Besharam
hit
a
large
number
of
screens
amidst
a
huge
hype
and
expectations,
but
the
movie
has
bombed
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
Considering
its
screen
count,
the
nine-day-extended
first
week
domestic
collection
of
the
Ranbir
Kapoor
and
Pallavi
Sharda
starrer
is
not
even
equal
to
what
was
expected
from
it
in
the
first
two
days.
Released
in
3,600
screens
on
Gandhi
Jayanthi
holiday,
Besharam
was
expected
to
smash
all
the
records
of
Chennai
Express,
which
had
done
fantastic
business
from
3,500
screens
in
the
domestic
market.
But
the
Ranbir
Kapoor
and
Pallavi
Sharda
starrer
has
failed
to
reach
it
makers'
expectations.
Its
9-day
domestic
total
is
not
even
equal
to
two-day
collection
of
the
Shahrukh
Khan
and
Deepika
Padukone
starrer
movie.
Having
huge
amount
of
advance
ticket
booking,
Besharam
opened
to
full
houses
in
the
morning
and
matinee
shows
on
Wednesday,
but
a
negative
word
of
mouth
took
a
toll
on
its
business
on
later
shows.
Instead
of
going
upwards,
the
movie
witnessed
65%
dip
on
the
second
day
and
it
further
slipped
over
the
weekend.
It
was
expected
to
surpass
Rs
100
crore
mark
in
5-day-extended
first
weekend,
but
it
could
not
even
cross
Rs
50
crore
mark.
When
compared
to
its
opening
day
collection,
Besharam
dropped
nearly
80%
on
Monday
and
it
continued
to
slip
on
the
following
days.
Its
week-days
collection
is
not
even
equal
to
what
was
expected
from
it
to
rake
in
on
its
first
Monday.
The
movie
has
struggled
to
cross
Rs
50
crore
mark
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
nine-day
first
week.
Besharam
has
collected
Rs
47.69
crores
in
the
first
weekend
and
Rs
7.63
crores
nett
on
the
weekdays
at
the
Indian
Box
Office.
Its
9-day-opening
week
total
stands
at
Rs
55.32
crores
nett.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
21.56
cr
on
Wed,
Rs
7.13
cr
on
Thu,
Rs
5.68
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
