Shuddh Desi Romance (3 Days) First Weekend Collection At Box Office

Among two new Hindi releases, Shuddh Desi Romance has turned out to be the biggest winner at the Indian Box Office race in the first weekend. The Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra starrer has done superb collection in three days and topped the domestic business chart, beating its rival Zanjeer starring South Indian Superstar Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra in the leads.

Shuddh Desi Romance, which was one of the most-hyped and highly-promoted films from YRF, released with a limited screen count (1,050) on September 6. The movie opened to an average response in the morning shows on Friday, but it went from strength to strength in the later shows. The film did record breaking collection at the Indian Box Office on first day, becoming the biggest opener for Sushant and Parineeti.

The business of Shuddh Desi Romance went up by 20% on Saturday and it continued to climb the ladder of success on Sunday. The Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra starrer has collected Rs 23.27 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 6.45 cr on Fri, Rs 7.90 cr on Sat and Rs 8.92 cr on Sun. Trade analysts feel that it is a fantastic business for a film with less known stars.

Shuddh Desi Romance is a youth-centric movie. It was rejected out-right by the film critics for its mindless content and performances. But the flick was successful in impressing the film goers, who spread a positive word of mouth, making it a grand success. It should be mentioned here that the maximum portion of its viewers were aged between 20 and 25 years.
