The two never accepted their relationship openly, but years after their breakup, Nargis admitted to dating Uday for 5 years and revealed that she was told to hide their relationship from the media and fans.
On October 20, the Azhar actress turned 44, and, going down memory lane, Nargis was asked about her breakup with Uday, to which she gave a surpising response.

During the trailer launch of her 2016 film Banjo, Nargis was bombarded with questions about her relationship with Uday Chopra. It was reported that she had moved back to the US forever when she left the promotions of Housefull 3 mid-way after splitting from the Dhoom actor.
However, when prodded further about her breakup, Nargis said, "Your question is irrelevant, so it's quite sad. I don't think you should continue."
For the unversed, Uday Chopra's breakup reportedly broke up with Nargis by just sending a text to her on WhatsApp. The reason is still unknown.
When Nargis Fakhri admitted to dating Uday Chopra
Years after their split, speaking to a leading daily in 2021, Nargis accepted dating Uday and said, "Uday and I dated for 5 years and he was the most beautiful human I met in India. I never have said this to the press as people told me to keep my relationship quiet, but I regret that because I should have shouted from the mountain tops that I was with such a beautiful soul."
