With changing times, peoples preference for films has seen a major change. Going by last years trend, people who loved masala and comedy films like Dabangg and Housefull also loved serious and off beat films like Peepli Live and Dhobi Ghat. The concept that off-beat and non-commercial films are boring and only targets the niche audiences, holds no more worth with today's audience.
Shor In The City, one of those films, which is offbeat but at the same time has a mass appeal. The film unravels three stories amidst the busy and fast life of Mumbai. All the three protagonists in the stories are neither connected to each other, nor do they cross each others path. However, there is an uncanny resemblance between them and that is what prevents the film from being episodic.
Abhay (Sendhil Ramamurthy) is an outsider and is forced to believe the fact that he is all alone in an indifferent city, which he once considered as his home. Tilak (Tusshar Kapoor) is an honest bootlegger who gets into a scams with his buddies Ramesh (Nikhil Dwivedi) and Mandook (Pitobash). They try to loot a local train, but end up creating a dangerous circumstances for them. Sawan (Sundeep Kishan), a young boy who has one and only goal to get into the Mumbai Junior Cricket team. However, in the corrupted Mumbai city nothing comes without a price. Thus he needs to find money first to fulfill his dreams. (The one thing that connects them is money)
