Kapoor,
who
had
produced
several
hit
Bollywood
movies,
breathed
his
last
in
Mumbai
on
Saturday
evening.
According
to
reports,
the
87-year-old
producer
died
at
his
residence
in
Lokhandwala
following
a
massive
cardiac
arrest.
He
is
survived
by
his
wife,
three
sons,
producer
Boney
Kapoor,
actors
Anil
Kapoor
and
Sanjay
Kapoor
and
daughter
Reena
Marwah.
Surinder
Kapoor
started
his
film
career
as
a
secretary
to
late
actor
Shammi
Kapoor's
wife
and
actress
Geeta
Bali.
Later,
he
produced
super-hit
Hindi
movies
like
Mr
India,
Judaai,
Loafer,
Pukar,
No
Entry
and
few
others.
He
had
also
worked
as
an
assistant
director
for
epic
film
Mughal-e-Azam.
Surinder
Kapoor
had
worked
as
the
president
of
the
Film
&
Television
Producers
Guild
of
India
from
1995
to
2001.
Dada
Saheb
Phalke
Academy
has
honoured
the
veteran
producer
with
the
LV
Prasad
Phalke
Award
in
2009.
Surinder's
death
is
great
loss
to
the
Bollywood,
which
has
lost
several
veteran's
like
Shammi
Kapoor,
Gautam
Rajadhyaksha,
Samir
Chanda
and
Jag
Mundhra
in
recent
months.
