The effervescent chemistry of Vijay and Samantha leaves you so captivated that it makes you fall in love instantly. Filled with humour, melodious music, Kuhsi featured a talented supporting cast, including actors such as Murli Sharma and Sachin Khedekar. Written and directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Kushi is releasing across theatres on the 1st of September.

Neeraj Pandey’s new action-thriller web series, The Freelancer's trailer, has been released. Mohit Raina plays the titular role, while Anupam Kher is his mentor. The show centres around the extraction of a young girl who reaches Syria, thinking it to be her honeymoon, after she gets married to a suspicious man. The web series is based on Shirish Thorat's book A Ticket to Syria. Created by Neeraj Pandey, the show is directed by Bhav Dhulia. It also stars John Kokken, Gauri Balaji, Navneet Malik, Manjiri Faddnis, and Sarah Jane Dias. The Freelancer will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from September 1 onwards.

Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, the grandson of actor Robert De Niro, died from an accidental drug overdose, according to a report. The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner told Rolling Stone, People, and CBS News on Tuesday that the 19-year-old succumbed to the toxic effects of fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine, and cocaine. Announcing his death on social media, De Niro Rodriguez’s mother, actress Drena De Niro, wrote, "I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama." He died on July 2.

Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar finally revealed the new Don today. Bollywood star Ranveer Singh will be stepping into the iconic role of Don for the third part of the popular action franchise "Don". He has replaced Shah Rukh Khan as the new Don. Sharing a new teaser on social media, Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani dropped a teaser introducing Ranveer to the franchise. Sharing the short clip, Farhan wrote, "A New Era Begins. #Don3". In the teaser, we see Ranveer wearing a leather jacket and leather boots in a high-rise building. On Tuesday, the Bombay High Court permitted actor Shiney Ahuja’s passport renewal for ten years. In 2011, the actor was convicted of raping his domestic help and is currently out on bail. A bench of Justice Amit Borkar noted that Ahuja, who was sentenced to jail terms for seven years, has been complying with the conditions imposed on him since he was granted bail. He had filed an application with the HC stating that his passport had been renewed by authorities only for a period of one year, which was causing him trouble. It was stated by Justice Borkar that during the pendency, Ahuja’s key travel document has been renewed on over six occasions. "There is no violation of bail conditions. The applicant has made out a case for direction to the passport authority to renew the applicant’s passport for ten years," the HC observed.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in lead roles, has slowed down at the domestic box office. The film on day 12 earned only Rs 4.50 crore on August 8, taking the total collection to Rs 113.88 crore. The romantic comedy-drama movie directed by Karan Johar marked his comeback. Renowned Malayalam filmmaker Siddique, who directed Salman Khan’s 2011 movie Bodyguard, died on Tuesday at the age of 63. He was hospitalised after suffering from a cardiac arrest on August 7, and he remained in a critical condition at a Kochi hospital. According to reports, he was put on ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and was being treated for liver-related problems and pneumonia. He started his career as an assistant director in Malayalam cinema with his friend Lal and worked under veteran filmmaker Fazil in 1983. Besides Malayalam, he has directed Telugu and Tamil films as well. He is known for directing Salman Khan's Bodyguard, which also had Kareena Kapoor. His last film was Big Brother, which was released in 2020. It had Mohanlal in the lead role.
