Director:
Siddharth

Fighter
Review:
Siddharth
Anand
started
his
career
by
directing
rom-coms,
but
with
Bang
Bang,
he
entered
the
action
genre
and
then
there
was
no
looking
back
for
him.
After
Bang
Bang,
he
gave
blockbusters
like
War
and
Pathaan,
and
now,
the
much
awaited
film
of
the
year,
Fighter,
has
finally
hit
the
big
screens
today.
So,
does
the
Fighter
fly
high?
Well
YES,
it
does!
Fighter
is
about
IAF
pilots
Patty
(Hrithik
Roshan),
Rocky
(Anil
Kapoor),
Minni
(Deepika
Padukone),
Bash
(Akshay
Oberoi),
and
Taj
(Karan
Singh
Grover).
Rocky
is
the
CO
and
the
others
are
a
part
of
a
special
team
that
has
been
made.
Terrorists
do
an
attack
on
the
Indian
Army
in
Pulwama,
and
to
take
the
revenge,
IAF
plans
an
air
strike
on
the
terrorists
camps
in
POK
(Pakistan
Occupied
Kashmir).
But,
during
the
mission
something
happens
and
how
these
officers
handle
the
situation
and
take
things
forward,
forms
the
rest
of
the
story...
The
story
of
Fighter
is
written
by
Siddharth
Anand
and
Rohan
Chibb,
and
the
dialogues
are
written
by
Hussain
Dalal
and
Abbas
Dalal.
The
first
half
of
the
film
is
good,
and
has
some
really
goosebumps
moments.
But,
the
movie
flies
high
in
the
second
half.
Post
interval,
Fighter
is
filled
with
emotions,
drama,
and
patriotism
which
makes
it
a
wholesome
watch.
Siddharth
Anand
recently
in
an
interview
said
that
though
Fighter
looks
very
stylish,
it's
a
very
Desi
Bharat
ki
film,
and
well,
he
was
right!
Anand
has
narrated
the
film
in
a
fantastic
manner
and
as
a
director
he
has
clearly
delivered
the
best
film
of
his
career.
The
movie
has
moments
that
will
give
you
goosebumps,
will
make
you
cry,
and
make
you
feel
proud
about
our
IAF
pilots.
It
is
surely
a
perfect
tribute
to
them.
Also,
the
VFX
team
deserves
a
special
mention.
They
have
done
a
great
job.
While
Siddharth's
narration
is
top
notch,
Hussain
and
Abbas
Dalal's
dialogues
also
grab
our
attention.
"Duniya
mein
mil
jayenge
aashiq
kayi,
par
watan
se
haseen
sanam
nahi
hota...
Heeroon
mein
simatkar,
sone
se
lipatkar
marte
hai
kayi,
par
Tirange
se
khoobsurat
kafan
nahi
hota..."
Performance
wise,
Hrithik
Roshan
clearly
steals
the
show.
Actually,
Hrithik
should
do
more
films
with
Siddharth
because
the
way
the
filmmaker
presents
him
no
one
does.
Hrithik
as
Patty
is
super
impressive
and
looks
hot.
Deepika
Padukone
shines
in
her
role
as
Minni,
delivering
a
powerful
act.
Anil
Kapoor
sir's
charm
will
win
your
hearts.
He
is
excellent
in
the
film.
Not
giving
much
spoiler,
but
during
the
climax,
a
scene
featuring
Kapoor
will
get
a
lot
of
claps
and
whistles
in
the
theatre.
While
Hrithik,
Deepika,
and
Anil
sir
lead,
the
supporting
cast
is
also
brilliant
here.
Akshay
Oberoi
and
Karan
Singh
Grover
have
given
a
fantastic
performance.
They
have
been
given
scenes
to
shine
and
prove
that
they
are
very
talented.
Sanjeeda
Sheikh
looks
gorgeous
in
the
film,
and
has
performed
really
well.
Mahesh
Shetty
also
leaves
a
mark,
and
Sharib
Hashmi,
Ashutosh
Rana,
and
Geeta
Agarwal
Sharma
are
wonderful
in
their
cameos.
Rishabh
Sawhney,
who
plays
the
antagonist,
gets
a
very
meaty
role,
and
he
has
performed
very
well.
You
will
surely
start
hating
him
while
watching
the
movie.
The
music
of
the
film
is
good
and
Sher
Khul
Gaye
is
already
a
chartbuster.
But,
it
is
the
Fighter
theme,
Vande
Mataram,
that
will
give
you
goosebumps
and
will
be
with
you
even
after
the
film
gets
over.
Overall,
Siddharth
Anand
delivers
his
career's
best
film
with
Fighter.
Yes,
it's
better
than
Pathaan.
The
movie
is
a
must
watch
and
a
perfect
film
for
the
Republic
Day
Weekend.
JAI
HIND!
